Fem FM was Britain's first women's radio station, which broadcast for eight days in March 1992 from a studio in the centre of Bristol. The project was initiated by Trish Caverly and Caroline Mitchell, who used the Radio Authority's 'Restricted Service Licence' (R. S. L.) to run a temporary radio station broadcasting to the Bristol area.
