  • Copies of all these deeds were sent up to the Board of Trade to prove the Corporation's claim to Lordship of the Manor The rights of Lordship were again purchased from the trustees of Sir Joseph Weston in 1899, the Corporation not contesting the point as to whether the trustees or themselves had the rights because the purchase money was not in excess of the actual value of the land The advowson was sold in 1836 to James Adam Gordon esq The Manor of Northweston was purchased in 1636 and sold to the same James Adam Gordon in 1840 The Board of Trade would not allow the Corporation's claim to the foreshore
