TitleDeeds re tenure and purchase of property between King Street and Baldwin Street (i.e. main theatre site)
Date1752 - 1836
DescriptionThe theatre was built on land between King Street and Baldwin Street, roughly behind the Hoopers' Hall. The conveyance of the land to the Proprietors was aided by the involvement of Edward Crump, whose wife Ann was one of the surviving heirs of Richard Packer, who had owned the site in the early eighteenth century. Edward and Ann were rewarded with two silver bearer tickets giving them free admission to performances at the theatre, see TR/Aal/3/5.
