Administrative historySt.Mark's was a district chapelry created out of the parishes of St.George and Stapleton by Order in Council of the 11th February 1848. The church was consecrated on the 18th May 1848 by Bishop Monk. A Day School was opened in 1855 with Mr.E.Hathway as headmaster, and closed in 1920 by the Local Education Authority, when the school buildings became the Church Hall. A boys' choir was begun in January 1874. St.Anne, Greenbank, was founded as a mission church to St.Mark's in 1901, and consecrated 1926. Also in 1901 All Hallow's, Easton, became a separate parish, and part of St.Mark's parish area was lost. St.Mark's was closed on the 20th January 1983, and the parish united with St.Anne, Greenbank (P.St AnG).
