Administrative historyIn 1919 Bristol Trades Council and Bristol Borough Labour Party set up a fusion committee. Its recommendations were accepted in 1920, namely that the two bodies should be known as Bristol Trades and Labour Council. They were to use the same headquarters and employ a single full-time secretary but they retained separate executives and delegates meetings. Since the Second World War the two have developed an independent existence.
